Palacios Community Medical Center
Palacios Community Medical Center (PCMC) is indeed a community-owned hospital. The hospital first opened in 1961 as Wagner General Hospital. It was renamed Palacios Community Medical Center in 2002. The board of directors of both the Foundation and the hospital are from Palacios and the surrounding area, and both administrators are long-time Palacios residents. The hospital is a 17-bed acute care hospital with Outpatient/Inpatient Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy and In-House Pharmacy. It also offers 24-hour Emergency Room Service.
